Random Conversation
Ever want to just talk without any overruling description forcing you to stay on topic? Welcome here. This will be the official thread for any random conversations about unimportant life-like (or not life related) things that are important to us, in a way, yet not, and I'm getting confused.... -_-
Since the possibility that this thread will go unnoticed and be ignored is quite high ( ) I'm going to target five members here and force them to post by answering a question.
Isaiah the Ox: Why do you like cows?
SirWhit: Why do you like music?
Frisk: How's the weather where you live? DO YOU HAVE SNOW YET?
Jeho: Favorite thing about winter?
War Doctor: Are conversations outside of controversial discussions and debating of any worth or importance?
Note: ANYONE can post what they want to at ANY TIME. These questions are simply to ensure this topic goes somewhere.

Re: Random Conversation
I like cows because I do. Haha, and also because I've grown up with them and experience how intelligent, loving, and emotional they can be. I guess that could go towards all animals, but growing up and caring for cows from birth till death has been a great experience for me and has created the great interest I have in cows. =) And basically, being a farmer, cows are my life, so I enjoy them. It's just like asking a cook why they like food, or a librarian why they like books. They may have other reasons of course, but it's also because they have spent so much time with those things.Countess wrote:Isaiah the Ox: Why do you like cows?

I like music because it lets people express things. Or something like that, I guess.

Would you call a chicken intelligent, loving and emotional? Just curious.

Re: Random Conversation
Haha, not our chickens! But I'm sure, somewhere, there are chickens that are loving/emotional to somebody. Just because I may find chickens rather dumb, doesn't mean someone else cannot. There could be someone who has spent a lot of time with chickens, and notices an intelligence in chickens that I can't recognize. That was basically my point with my previous statement.Farmer wrote:Would you call a chicken intelligent, loving and emotional? Just curious.
What animals do you have, Farmer?

Re: Random Conversation
I have seen chickens that are loving to their chicks but thats the extent of it.
I own a pig farm so I have lots of those and also a few beef cattle, 3 cats, and a dog. I would say thay all are somewhat intelligent though thay hide it quite well most of the time!

Re: Random Conversation
We had a huge snowstorm last weekend, actually. There were drifts up to my waist, but now it's all melting. Surprisingly, it's February and I'm not sick of snow yet. Probably because I'm glad for anything that's not wildfire season.Countess wrote:Frisk: How's the weather where you live? DO YOU HAVE SNOW YET?

O_O
How often do wildfires occur?

Re: Random Conversation
Overall, it just depends. Last year wasn't that bad for were we are, but it was really bad further west. We've been fortunate to only have minor wildfires near us, but there have been times we've been prepared to evacuate if needed.

@Countess
What is the story behind your avatar?
Why did you choose it?
Does an avatar say something about the person or is it a random picture or something that struck their fancy when they were making it?

Re: Random Conversation
My avatar is a random picture I found. It's representing one of the ten virgins who was waiting for Christ. I chose it because I liked it and because it had a good meaning behind it.
I think it depends. However avatars usually do tell us something about the person even if it's in a small way. For instance, I know Ox likes cows, you are a farmer without even having to know your usernames.Does an avatar say something about the person or is it a random picture or something that struck their fancy when they were making it?

I hunted for a long time to find just the right picture for my avatar... When I found one i liked, I edited it greatly to get the effect I wanted...

Yep so it goes. I always hunt for mine for awhile too.
Ox, on the other hand, just has someone make it for him. ....
